A Beautiful Mind is about brilliant mathematician John Nash and his legendary life. The earnest thriller-cum-weepie starring Russell Crowe as a maths genius whose life is wracked by schizophrenia. A Beautiful Mind is stamped all over with ‘Hollywood prestige project’ and showered with awards.

Although the film leaves out the seedier elements of the real Nash’s life (divorce, cottage), it fashions a loose biopic that is by turns funny, exciting, sad and downright corny. The script, by Akiva Goldsman, (who also wrote the inexcusable Batman & Robin), is riddled with pithy, utterances that capture these shifting tones: there’s Nash’s description of himself: “I’m quite well balanced – I have a chip on both shoulders” – or the description his doctor, Rosen (Plummer), later uses to describes his disease to his wife: “The nightmare of schizophrenia is not knowing what’s true.”

Although it dallies with Cold War thriller elements, A Beautiful Mind is ultimately a formulaic tale of human perseverance, and merits comparisons with other, similar award-showered tales .As such, it’s an above-average weepie, a Hollywood prestige film that pre-packages the sufferings of one highly intelligent man and the woman who loves him to manipulate the emotions. Although the film itself is not as smart as it imagines itself to be, it’s certainly artful, with fine camera work by Roger Deakins (who shot the Coens’ stylish The Man Who Wasn’t There), and solid, thanks to Howard’s even-tempered direction.

Scent of a Woman is about Charles Simms (Chris O’Donnell), a Boston prep school senior, and the Thanksgiving weekend he spends working as the aide and companion of Lt. Colonel Frank Slade (Al Pacino), an embittered, lonely, blind veteran. The job, which begins as an onerous task performed principally for money, becomes a tour of self-discovery when Slade decides to make an unexpected visit to New York City.

There are numerous dynamic scenes in Scent of a Woman, along with a surprising amount of comedy. Director/Producer Martin Brest knows how to blend humor with drama to good effect. His mix is nearly flawless, and he manages to do almost (and I emphasize almost) the entire film without resorting to manipulative tricks. Pacino’s tango scene with Gabrielle Anwar is one such magical moment – unfettered, unforced, and highly enjoyable.

For as long as Brest and Goldman allow Frank to exist on his own ridiculous terms, the character — and the movie — work beautifully. And Pacino does a masterful job of making Frank’s acid one-liners and put-downs hilariously funny. But then the filmmakers seem to have decided that they wanted to paint themselves into a corner all along. When Frank becomes “lovably” misanthropic — which has been a perpetual danger since the start — the movie reverses its position on him. The creators decide they want him to just be a blind guy after all, which allows them to score easy, sentimental points and give the film an upbeat, life-affirming Capraesque ending.

The Japanese comic Spirited Away is a good movie. It tells a story as follows. A ten-year-old girl, came to a strange world of bizarre creations, and deduced a story of looking for love and trying to find the way home. In this world, there was a stocky woman with a huge head and even bigger hairdo. She lived in a bathhouse, and the bath house itself was stocked with all sorts of weird and wonderful creatures. The only way to survive is to get work in the bath house that dominated the town.

Miyazaki’s animation is always beautiful and, in places, breathtaking. Locations are atmospheric, details are immaculate, and characters are diverse in his works.

Miyazaki’s work always has the power to transcend culturally specific elements. Although he insists it’s not his role to be didactic, all of his work has strong messages about ecology and the human relationship with the natural world. And he’s also fascinated with coming-of-age stories, notably about how girls (many of his protagonists are young females) can not only face up to adult responsibility, but also how they can become strong, principled members of society.

It’s no wonder the likes of Pixar’s John Lasseter (who executive produced the US dub) are so full of praise for Miyazaki. He’s a true genius, an artist and great filmmaker who happens to work in animation – a medium often belittled as childish in the West. Spirited Away is wonderful.

This movie wasn’t great but it was enjoyable. I’m not quite interested in Patrick Dempsey who has made his acquaintance as a TV actor. What I am trying to say is that the movie is just OK but could have been much better if the director can have someone like Owen Wilson or Vince Vaughn as the lead role, both of whom are much more adept to the style of comedy. By the way I enjoyed their movies very much. I did like how there wasn’t very much “cheese” considering it’s a romantic comedy but some of the storyline is very unrealistic in terms of real life. Women will thoroughly enjoy it while guys will be indifferent. For all the guys who will take their girl to see it, Michelle Monaghan is great eye candy.
The story tells a story about a man, Tom Bailey who is in love with his best friend Claire. But Tom has a fear of commitment and refuses to admit the obvious affection. When Colin, a rich Scotsman sweeps Claire off her feet and asks for her hand in marriage, Tom must witness her unquestioned happiness up close and personal–because she has chosen him to be her Maid Of Honor. It is really out of the normal sense of people. Then of course some really funny scenes showed up one after another.
This is really a funny movie. I showed my great interest to it just as I saw the name of the movie. I could not help laughing as the movie went on. Go to see it, you will absolutely have a happy time there.

Well it’s been a little while since the last one and now the Transformers 2 trailer has been released and looks as though this will be the final official trailer before release.

In trailer you get a much greater idea of what is going on in the movie with regards to a few plot points, you get to see some new Transformers and also some confirmation as to the return of some from the first Transformers movie – no doubt this is the reference that is in the subtitle of the sequel, Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen.

Some of the locations being used in this movie look to be really good and contrast well with the desert and city locations of the first film, as well as the use of some more historic landmarks in the sequel. I’m definitely looking forward to seeing this movie now after seeing the Transformers 2 trailer.

You can take a look at it below in standard definition; or click the HD button to see it in gorgeous high definition. What do you think to the looks of the 3rd and final Transformers 2 trailer?

Man of The Year is a good movie. It is a good comedy that you may burst into laughter many times while watching, but I also see it as a political movie that accuses the false democracy that are highly praised by American government. The director did a perfect job of putting some criticizes into the humorous scenes of the movie. Some people did not like movie very much because they are just looking for a funny movie to have “great fun”. They will probably dislike the movie, because it is not a comedy as good as great ones that are popular during the people. It is only an average work as a comedy. It is neither a perfect one as a political movie. But I still like it very much and recommended you to have a look at this one, because it turns the boring political into some humorous ways. I can easily stand before my computer to watch through the movie instead of walking away as I usually see a political movie. I think it is boring. But this one is different. Go to watch it, and I am sure you will like it too.

Gone Baby Gone is one of the best movies I’ve ever seen. I haven’t seen a movie that makes me to think for a long time-always comedy and romance movies. Those movies are good too but not as good as this one. It leads you think in a deep and very profound way. Do the ends justify the means? That is the central question this movie asks. You may devote yourself to do something good but in a “wrong” way and you may be captured and put into prison for it. Is it meaningful? There are some other underlying themes that can enable people to think too-aged vs. youth, the nature of family. I think above all this movie shows how excruciatingly hard it is to make the right choices in life. Things are all complicated in real life. You may have several different decisions that can lead to different ends. Which one is your most wanted? You can never have got the answer before you make your choice and the thing develops. So you need to think a lot before any stupid behavior. But if you think it is worth, do not hesitate, just do it with all your effort. Go to see Gone Baby Gone. You will like it.

My Best Friend’s Girl is a good comedy that concerns two of the most popular topics-love and friendship. Most of people who have watched it say that it was a very unique romantic comedy. They enjoyed a good time in the cinema watching this movie because there were always some funny scenes that can lead people to burst into laughter. The actors Dane Cook and Kate Hudson did a perfect job in the movie. You could see them show up for the most parts of the movie, and they were always ‘making great effort to make you laugh’-I didn’t mean that they are trying to interest you. They just did what they should do as a professional actor. But we can enjoy a lot of leisure time through their performance. This made me think of Charlie who always evoked me to laugh heartily and happily. No doubt Dane Cook and Kate Hudson are great comedy actors too and I am sure they will always be good in the future.
For romance part, it is OK. Although it is not a big deal-as big as the love story in Titanic, I was kind of moved by the romance between the actors. When friendship and love coincided, what should you do? There is no right or wrong in love affair, the best thing you should do is to listen to voice of your deep soul, and then make the best decision.
Come and see the movie, enjoy a happy time. You won’t be disappointed.

Iron Man is one of my favorite films so far last year. Jon Favreau has chosen the great actor Robert Downey Jr as the intelligent and flirty Tony Stark of Stark Industries, which is a good choice. I don’t think Gwyneth Paltrow was that good as Pepper Potts, but she did her best. Iron Man has an amazing storyline and loved it! I am going to be the first girl to buy the film tomorrow morning, I don’t care about the price I love the film too much. I recommend everyone else out there to get this film because it will really suprise you especially those who haven’t watched this film yet. A rumour(actually fact)that Robert Downey Jr has signed up for Iron Man 2, 3 and 4! Iron Man 2 might come out on the 30th April 2010. So we will be seing some more Downey Jr action then.

I have heard of Wedding Crashers many times before I see it myself. People who recommended this moive to me all said it was funny and quite enjoyable. I have some suspisions and then I decided to cheak it out myself. Finally it is proved that I would make a big mistake if I miss this film.
I was very much impressed with this comedy. The basic idea of this movie makes me laugh. It had a very good story line. It was about 2 guys who attend weddings for free food, and to meet girls. I felt like that I have met them before and knew the characters well when I watched the movie, which means that actors themselves did a good job of getting the personality of the characters out. But I was a little disappointed that the story ended a little harsh. It seemed that it is not a proper time to end there. I really expected more.
This movie is a must watch for any fan of what I like to call “easy comedies,” meaning you don’t have to think much. I would recommend this movie.

The 40 Year Old Virgin is really funny. It is so funny that I can not remember exactly how many times I laugh hugely when I watch the movie. It told a story as follow. Andy is 40, and he’s a virgin. He has a major toy collection, a good job, and is just an all-out nice guy. He’s just so hopelessly nerdy, that he has never succeeded with girls. When his friends find out about his celibate life, they set out to help him lose his virginity. They recommend that he hit on the most drunk woman he can find, but Andy doesn’t think it’s right. He sets his sights on a single mother, Trish, and when they start going out, Andy’s friends are proud that he’s going to finally do it. But Andy doesn’t care about sex. He and Trish form a no-sex policy.
This movie ’s actually got a good message, that says you can wait to have sex for as long as you think is necessary. There are some fairly serious moments. The trailers make it look like a dumb, vulgar, and random sex- comedy. But it’s not dumb. It’s actually so intelligent, that some people may not find it funny. But I sure did. The waxing scene and the poker game are my favorites. Also, this movie is filthy. Sex dominates every scene, and even when it’s not actually happening, it’s being discussed in the most graphic terms imaginable. The profanity is non-stop as well. It was however to see some good R rated comedies lately, and I hope for more to come.

I’ve had a good time when I saw Cars: it’s funny, quite original and the story is good. I don’t like Owen Wilson, but Lightning McQueen is nice. But the director did a perfect job in balancing-almost every character has got its special moment. And there is a little detail I like best: the flies were cars too. But the very scene which made me laugh most was the cars gathering together at the cinema in the end. It was really funny there. I think Cars is a good movie for children as well as for adults who are look for some fun. Watch it if you want to cheer yourself up.

Babylon A.D. is a good movie in my opinion, although it is criticized by other people. I really enjoyed a good time when I watched it. Maybe because I have the different taste for movies, or just because the people like me they do not want to put their opinions on the net, I found little positive comments of the movie. But I would like to say what I feel, no matter what others said.
Babylon A.D. tells a story happening in the future when the world economy is on the edge of corruption. A man is hired to protect a girl who holds the key of the future. But some people would like to catch the girl, and even kill her and the man as well. So a fight which can decide the fate of the earth begins. It is a good story line as in many classic movies. The actors all do a good job, and the movie is directed well too.
In a word, it is a good movie worth watching, you should have a look if you are interested in heroic movies.

Norbit is such a movie that I was not expecting to see. In my opinion this movie is really bad except for the fat woman that is too much beyond my imagination. It’s surprising that a movie with so much comedic talent could make me laugh so little. Or maybe it isn’t and I’m overestimating Eddie Murphy. In any case, this movie made me laugh about three times: all of them from Eddie Griffin’s and Katt Williams’s lines. And this was at the end of the movie during the church scene. It took the entire movie to get to the humor. The rest is just badly constructed plot and fat jokes. But do you what the worst part is? Rasputia’s catch-phrase. Why would she have a catch-phrase? It’s like giving Jar Jar Binks a catchphrase; nobody’s going to quote cinema’s greatest reject, and nobody’s going to quote this. Don’t waste your time with this mess. It is the worst time I spent before my computer.

The Passion of the Christ is a good movie and can be even better movie if I can follow every talk in the movie. The actors in the movie spoke the original English that I can not follow. It costs most of my attention to the lines that I missed several images. I was wondering whether I have missed some classical images. It felt really uncomfortable. But I do not mean that this film is bad. It as produced well to be honest. This is the first movie I have even seen that depicts the whole life of Jesus Christ. I think it must be in need of great courage to make a movie of Christ. It must be a great challenge to the actor who acts the role of Christ, because you must do it almost perfectly, and you need to satisfy everybody’s taste. James Caviezel did a perfect job. I was really deeply moved by the Christ he played. In a word, The Passion of the Christ is a good movie. I recommend it to you.

We Are Soldiers is a war movie that I like very much though it is one of my favorite ones like Saving Private Ryan. Some people comment on this movie and say that it is a no good movie, but I think they go too far in some direction. Don’t be extreme. See the movie from the whole, you will find that it is fine. The battle scenes are tense and can make you focus all your attention. But it does not last so long that you may lose your interest in a similar scene for a long time. By the way, I like the battle of Saving Private Ryan’s first 30 minutes. It is the tensest half an hour that I have ever experienced, and I really enjoy it. Sorry, a bit more words. Let’s come back to the topic movie-We Are Soldiers. I like its emotional scenes better than other films, and it is a great emotion movie in some way. The actors’ performances are not too bad, some above the average. It is a movie that is worth watching.

First of all, I want to say that I am very interested in detective and crime movies, such as Se7en, The Silence of The Lamb. It must be a little referring to logy and psyche too. The audience is never let in to how the illicit affair started. It seems right off the bat absurd that a police detective would have an affair with a debutante. It gives some illusionary color to the movie. Again, Anthony Hopkins’ character is very smart and wily in this picture, surely he would cover his tracks not to be careless and get caught outside of the double jeopardy law. I also felt that Anthony Hopkins was a lovable sort of character in this movie. I found myself liking him and hating the cop that had the affair with his wife. The acting was fairly well. I think the movie is entertaining and is an above average movie at least. It is another classical work of Hopkins, eager to see more works of him.

When A Stranger Calls is considered not as good as the original one by most commenter, but in my opinion, it is OK. Maybe because that the original one is made so well that people put too much expectation into it, but obviously it does not satisfy the demand of such people. The images are not so bad that it did not cause any unfit feeling of my eyes. As for the story, I should say that it is plain, not good enough to draw audience’s special attention but not too bad to bear.
Concerning to the actors’ part, Camilla Bell did a great job as Jill Johnson. And the fact that a teen horror flick could be made in the year 2006 without tremendous vulgarity and gore, made it even that much stronger of a film. I had a great time trying not to chew my fingernails off!
In a word, it is an OK work and you can enjoy a fine time with it.

I played the video game Silent Hill before I watched the movie. It is also the reason why I go to watch this movie other than other movies. It turned out to be pretty good. The story of the movie Silent Hill was pretty good and it did justice to the game that it is based on. The monsters look freaky, just like those in the game which kept you on the edge of your seat. I was very happy, because I’m an avid horror fan too. A lot of the more recent films are very disappointing because they are all predictable, and not very scary. Now it could be a psychological thriller, but that’s not the same thing, because it’s not monsters and spooky stuff, usually. I recommend this movie, and for anyone who likes horror movies-if you believe in the possibility of possession-it will scare you, and possibly keep you up at night. I wanted to play the game again. It must become more thriller.

I can not help laughing when I watch the movie, but fun is not all you can get from it, It is also a great movie for cheering people up. The songs in the movie are great. I can still remember some melodies that are really nice. The scenery is amazing, and your eyes feel comfortable while watching. The actors are wonderful too. They all do an excellent job. Some are out of the average that I want to say something about them. Meryl Streep surprised me the most. She grew up to be an excellent “Donna”. She is funny and she gives an excellent emotional performance of “The Winner Takes It All”. But the most outstanding one was definitely Amanda Seyfried. That girl has an amazing voice and she gives a great and funny show. So if you are looking for a sweet and fun movie, then yes this is the movie for you. Watch it, and you won’t be disappointed.

Traitor is a good movie that you will never regret to spend your time watching it. Unlike many spy thrillers that bombard the audience with senseless violence and one-sided good vs. evil, “Traitor” is the best of them all. The real standout is Don Cheadle, great as the main character and his performance shows that he can do great action too with potential in more roles in the action genre. Guy Pearce is also good as FBI agent Roy Clayton with a hard, somewhat cynical edge who was determined to get the job done no matter what the odds. Also worth mentioning is Saïd Taghmaoui whose role really shines as the bad guy whose comradeship between him and Cheadle leads to a tragic end.
Overall, a great spy thriller. There’s action but not too much that detracts from the focus of the story and for once more importantly, it doesn’t fall into typical Hollywood bravado that’s so prevalent in today’s movies and instead presents both sides of the argument and leaves the viewer with a bunch of questions. One of the best spy thrillers I’ve seen this year.

Dragonball Evolution Is the worst movie I have seen during the year. I am completely disappointed though I like the cartoon series very much. Because the director has not seen the whole series of the cartoon, he got completely wrong about the plot. I really can not accept this movie because it is opposite to my favorite. Maybe I was bios but The movie itself is not a remarkable one. The fight scenes are boring and very short. I was expecting huge explosions. It would have been better to cut the scenes in school as I don’t really remember much of Goku’s life studying or probably I just missed them. Goku’s transformation into an ape was poorly done. But actors are not all bad. I like Emmy Rossum as Bulma; she did well. Chatwin was alright. I think the movie should have to be re-shot better fight scenes, extreme power for destructions (that is what Dragonball was known for). The movie failed to make me a part of it as I wasn’t really seeing myself immersed and wanting to see more. My eyes riveted on the screen hoping to see more but the movie was just it has it can offer; it made me unhappy. I won’t recommend this movie, though somebody considers it is OK.

Nim’s Island is probably one of the most enjoyable family movies that I have not seen for a long time. All of the characters a believable and the story builds up nicely around our main character, the young girl Abigail Breslin as Nim Rusoe. Jody Foster has one of her best roles ever since Silence of the Lambs. It’s nice to see her at a different type of role with lots of humor and warmth. This movies is not just for small children and their moms but can be enjoyed by the male audience too – as it has a good portion slapstick moments. I found myself laughing at Jodie Fosters antics and phobias. A truly enjoyable moment with her as an actor – and I think she must have loved this type of role as well. Let’s hope we can see her in more comedy movies like this. The pictures of the movie are cool, as well as funny animals, nice people and a happy story – what else you are expecting? I want to be on that island myself.

The illusionist is a good movie that I have been expecting for a long time. I love it. It was the best movie I’ve seen in years. If you like The Count of Monte Cristo, you’ll love this movie because they the same type of story lines-betrayal, intrigue and suspense in it. The effects of the magic things in the movie are amazing as well. The magic tricks were very well done. I was totally drowned into the incredible world that the illusion could create. It is a good romantic movie as well and a very good educational movie for young fellows. I won’t give away the ending, but it’s one that you can not tell what will come or put it another way, out of any of your predictions! It is just like Sixth Sense. As for the actors, Ed Norton did a perfect job. He put his practice in, and he was very talented with sleight of hand tricks. I would even consider Ed Norton’s performance worthy of Oscar consideration. Go to see it, and you will never regret.

I have a complicated feeling about Hancock. I am saying that I like the first half of the movie very much, which makes me think that it is another Will Smith’s classical works but when the movie comes to the other half till the end, it turns out to be a disaster. I do not understand why it comes this way, but that’s all weighing on my mind. Hancock was a hero in modern America, but he has been existing for thousands of years. He will get weak and powerless when his lover comes close to him. I can not get this point even though the director tried to make some explanations. Indeed he did a poor job in explaining. If you want to see this movie, it is OK, but do not hold high spirits.

Firstly, I have to admit that I am an American Pie series lover since I watched the first of the series. These guys are really funny, and lives of theirs are full of passion and energy. I have been focusing my attentions on this series, and now it comes to American Pie 3. I like it too. The only thing that would have made this film perfect would be if all the original characters would have returned like Heather, Vicky, Jessica, Oz, Sherman and Nadia. Other than that, this is a sick- in a good way and very funny movie. The jokes are original and in true American Pie fashion, the movie makes all your inner kinky fantasies come true. While I liked the Finch/Stifler fights over Cadance, what was the point of Kevin in this film? Wouldn’t it be funny if he turned out to be gay and hooked up with “Bear”? I enjoyed the bachelor party maybe a little too much but Nikki Ziering was really hot and all guys should love the lady action. The movie is best in the beginning and the end, where Jim gets a “” in front of people with his pants down and Finch and Stifler’s mom get it on in a bathtub! Outrageous scenes and the fact that the film takes such huge risks make the film unique and impossible to repeat.

The In-laws is a very good comedy movie if you just see it as a comedy instead of some serious movies. It is made to bring some easy time and laugh to the people who watch it, and it did well in this. The jokes never seem to wear out in this movie. The film is about Jerry Peyser(Albert Brooks) an uptight foot doctor, preparing for his daughter Melissa’s (Lindsay Sloane) wedding. He finally meets the groom’s father named Steve Tobias (Michael Douglas). But things really get crazy when Jerry discovers that Steve is actually a secret agent, and he gets dragged in on one of his missions. Michael Douglas and Albert Brooks make a good team to provoke the laughs of the people. You can really tell they were having a ball. Watch it if you are look for some easy pleasure and want to enjoy a relaxed time.

Burn after Reading is a good comedy in which I get a lot of fun. I really like it. The Director of the movie presented a chain of events due to the leak of a secret CIA data. One thing that leads to the other was really engrossing and so much fun to watch. The story line was pretty good. I like the pictures of the beginning and the ending of the movie with an aerial view of earth from space. They are really beautiful. It makes me feel comfortable. I think it is part of the reasons why I like this moive.
As for the performances of the actors and actresses, Francis Mc Dormand as Gym worker, online date searcher and looking for cosmetic surgery was simply stand out. Without pretending, her unhappiness with loneliness and growing age was clearly reflected on her performance. Brad Pitt as macho gym instructor was convincing, he acted very well indeed and I can’t help laughing for some scenes of Pitt’s. Tilda Swinton and John Malkovich as frustrated husband-wife pair is fun to watch. What disappointed me was the role of George Cloony. His role was interesting but somehow he did not manage do justice with it. In some scenes he had gone over the top.
In a word, Burn after Reading is a remarkable masterpiece of comedy movies. I recommended you to watch it.

28 Days Later turns out to be a fairly good horror movie, I like it very much. The thing I liked best about this movie was the terrific atmosphere. From the shots of totally deserted cities to the desolate manor later in the movie, “28 Days Later” really succeeded in creating a dark and creepy atmosphere. In addition, there were some good scary moments and some gore in the movie, but it never goes too far and degenerated into a hack-fest.
The plot is very good too. Although it borrows from other sources, it’s good enough to carry the movie and has a couple of unexpected twists. It’s also a lot darker than other movies. I also like the fact that the movie gives you just enough information to figure out what is going on, instead of boring you with long explanations that ultimately only undermine the credibility.
In a word, the director and the actors do a fine job to make a good movie. 28 Days Later is of course worth watching, if you are looking for some well organized horror movies.

This movie was excellent! Just as visually interesting as Sin City, and with the same delicious feel as other Milla films such as The Fifth Element. The colors and texture is cinematic art. The director’s vision came across as amazing on the screen.
As a fan of Milla Jovovich, I thought the action was a befitting style for her. The character was well rounded, even if the relationship between Violet and Six seemed forced and awkward at times. I felt the characters, especially the homophobes were very interesting and the character Garth’s relationship with Violet was helpful.
Overall, I was impressed with this film. The feeling, look, and story were all in good taste. The director has created an excellent work of art. I was excited by the action, I felt sorrowful during the emotional aspect of the film, and I did root for Violet through the entire movie. The film is perfect!
