On Oliver Twist

I think the movie is very good! The characters and acting are amazing. Especially Oliver who is superb at acting despite his youth; also Kingsley, who brought Fagin to life. This is just a movie. So workhouse boys in Polanski’s film can look healthy, fat and clean! The set design is excellent! It looks like 19th century London! I have read the book, and the movie doesn’t have Rose, Mrs Maylie, Harry, or Monks. Monks is a very important character in the book. He is Oliver’s half-brother. Monks and Bill wanted to kill Oliver. The movie was not true to the book. Despite the cuts in the story, the movie is still very good. Polanski’s version is perfect.
