Keep Hope in Mind- On The Shawshank Redemption

After I watched the movie The ShawShank Redemption, one simple word “hope” is left in my mind instead of all the scenes attractive in the movie. “Hope is a good thing. Maybe the best thing of all. Good things never die.” Those words are always weighing on my mind. Andy is a great man, the toughest man I have ever seen. He is absolutely and completely strong in mind.
Andy never gave up the hope even though he was innocent but put into prison because of the false judgment, even though from the very beginning he stepped into the prison everybody in the prison told him that he will not be able to get out and to accept the truth, even though he had a terrible experience of being raped by the “flower sisters” many times, even though he found the truth of his case and asked the Verdun to help him to turn the case over to set him free, but the Gordon killed the man who can witness for him, and let him go to deepest breaking point to be beaten down completely. He found some interesting things like collecting stones when he found other prisoners have nothing to do every day and he made a huge collection. He fought back every time when the “flower sisters” offence him with his power and his wisdom and finally he won. He planned a perfect method to get away from the prison and earned the money of 350,000 US dollars for his new life and successfully get to his planned destination.
In my opinion, the more wonderful thing Andy does is that he woke up the hope of the prisoners who had forgotten ever since they got into the prison. He earned the bears with his wisdom and his courage. He built up a good library through thousands of letters he wrote all with his own hands. He played music for the prisoners who were all washed up by the lovely sound though they may not know what the song means, for which he was put into the dark hole for half a month. He even gave the old black man hope when he decided to leave. Andy finally he succeeded, the old man came to him and they have a new life.
Hope is good, never lose heart. The last words I want to say is: “Never, never, never give up, and always keep hope in mind.”
